One

He got paged while on the vent. Reluctantly, they stepped back. He checked his pager.

"Want in on an appendectomy?" Owen asked.

"Do I?" Cristina asked. "I so need to cut right now, after today." She paused, smiling. "Well, the vent and the kissing helped."

He grinned and kissed her again. "Let's go cut, then."

Two

She said 'yes'. Owen felt like the luckiest man alive, sitting on the gurney. She was going to give him a second chance, after that disaster of a date last night.

Cristina looked sideways at him. He supposed he was grinning like a fool. He didn't care.

"It's getting late," she said, slowly sliding off the gurney. "My shift is done." He stood up.

"My shift, uh, doesn't end for a couple more hours," he said apologetically.

She nodded thoughtfully, then awkwardly stepped forward to kiss him briefly, before leaving. It was a tacit acknowledgment that they were in some sort of relationship now, and he felt like he could conquer anything at that moment.

Three

She didn't look up when Owen entered the gallery. Cristina just knew that he was there. When the patient had been closed, and her first solo surgery was complete, then she looked up. He smiled down at her proudly.

He met her outside the scrub room. Quietly, he pulled her into a nearby closet, and kissed her up against the door. She tasted beer.

"Are you drunk?" Cristina frowned.

"It's Derek's fault," Owen said. "And Bailey's. She sent me out for him. But I didn't drive back, the Chief gave me a ride."

She opened her mouth - then shook her head. "I don't want to know."

"Great surgery," he smiled, stroking her face. "You were a rock star."

She beamed at him - and then her face fell. "Izzie."

"What about Izzie?"

"She has cancer," Cristina said softly. She stood there, stunned. She'd really blurted it out, hadn't she?

"What?"

"She told me - just me - and then wouldn't let me help her," Cristina said slowly. "So I told Alex, and Bailey, and Alex left the OR, and I should really go find out what's happening. I should warn Izzie that people know now."

Owen stared at her. "What?"

"I'll explain on the way," she said, opening the door.

Four

She ran out of dollar bills. Every one on the table now had a red dot on George Washington's nose, precisely where she wanted it to be.

Owen rubbed her shoulders from behind. I suppose he's going to tell me "I told you so." She set her mouth firmly, waiting for him to gloat.

"You did great," he whispered, hot breath warming her ear. He continued to rub. She stood there, waiting.

"Want to go get a drink?" Owen asked.

She closed her eyes, admonishing herself for expecting something negative. Wishing that they were more in sync lately. She turned around and kissed him.

"A drink sounds good," she said.

Five

Cristina walked into the Christmas party, late. And raised her eyebrows at Owen playing a guitar. He was on the couch, strumming away, chatting with Arizona about something.

She noticed that Teddy was watching him raptly. That's not good.

Cristina looked around, plotting her next move. She grabbed a leafy decoration off of the table and walked over to Owen.

"Hey!" She loved how his face lit up. She smiled and held the decoration over his head.

"Pretend it's mistletoe," Cristina said. And kissed him. He shoved the guitar to the side as she slid on his lap. She purposefully kept her back to Teddy. Mine.
