I can't imagine this being anything but a pregnancy. I hope the show doesn't leave us hanging over the summer about how it's resolved.

If it is a pregnancy - what else would 'I've grown up as much as I plan to and I don't come around' refer to? - there's part of me that wonders if what 'speaks volumes about the future of their relationship' could be Owen saying as much as he always thought he'd have children, the life he now has is possible because Cristina has been there for him so more than anything he wants that 40 years he promised her whether or not they ever have children.

And for Cristina, this is just the thing she needs to hear to be able to meet Owen where he is and she decides to take a leap of faith and have this baby.

Yep, that's very possible. That's the way I wrote it in Season 6.5 - Owen is grateful that he even has Cristina in his life.

Another possibility is that knowing how much Meredith has struggled to become pregnant, Cristina may realize that ending a pregnancy would also mean the end of her friendship with Meredith.

Edited to say, what I really want is to see Cristina want to have the baby for her own reasons, not because she feels trapped. Not to please Owen, not to avoid losing Meredith's friendship. Like you said, have Cristina take a leap of faith.

From your mouths to Shonda's ears (metaphorically speaking, of course, since we know that the SF has already been shot...LOL). KMK also indicated that whatever happens will continue into S8, so hopefully CO will continue to face life together. Regardless of my love of CO (which is substantial) if I take a more objective point of view it STILL seems impossible to me that CO in the long term could be anything but together, committed, in love, etc. They've overcome too much for that sort of nonsense. I've got to think they'll be ok in the end and hope there won't be too much angst in the meantime, but we need to be prepared for a loooong summer hiatus as we may well be left hanging in the SF.

Let's just say, hypothetically, that Cristina did get pregnant. What I'm wondering is if she would finally talk to Owen about the ectopic pregnancy. Or if they'll throw some kind of complication at her because she lost a tube during that whole thing. It still sounds to me from all the spoilers I've read that she'll have an unexpected pregnancy and have to choose between chief resident and a baby. Who knows what they'll do though.

I wouldn't assume that Owen doesn't know about the prior pregnancy. We obviously don't see all their conversations. The surgery she had would have left a scar that, given the nature of their relationship, he would almost definitely have noticed.

IF this is a pregnancy (and I'm inclined to think that it is, since this seems to be Shonda's year for so-called "surprising" but in fact very predictable plot developments), it would be another example of Shonda putting Cristina in a situation similar to one she was in with Burke, and contrasting how she deals with the same circumstance with Owen. She could never tell Burke she loved him (while he was awake, at least), but she told Owen. She didn't want to move in with Burke, but she said yes to Owen's suggestion of it even as he was telling her to take time to consider it. She kept Burke waiting for more than a week before accepting his marriage proposal, but she didn't hesitate when Owen asked. She kept her pregnancy a secret from Burke and planned an abortion. If the pattern holds, she will tell Owen AND decide to go through with the pregnancy. But I agree with Angela - - I want that to be her choice, not her accommodation of her husband or her BFF. And the only way that can happen is if Owen tells her he will stick with her and love her whatever she decides.
