Question: I was wondering about your reaction when Cristina said "take him" when Teddy said she wanted Owen on Grey's Anatomy. My DVR cut off right at that moment so I couldn't tell if Cristina realized what she said. From what I've read in several synopses, she didn't. I've stuck with Grey's for longer than many, but this one may do it for me. Owen and Cristina have been the best thing about the show recently, and this just seems absurd. Is it that the show has been on long enough, or is Shonda too spread out with Private Practice, too. I kept with Private Practice until the early part of the second season and then gave up. What do you think?—Myra
Matt Roush: Well, I can’t blame you for giving up on Private Practice. And obviously, this question came in before last week’s Grey’s episode aired, in which the fallout from Cristina’s impulsive blurt was thoroughly explored—ending in Owen’s passionate declaration that he wasn’t about to step aside for mere surgery. Gotta think the romantics liked that moment. It’s also another good example of why fans should just let these folks tell their stories and stop screaming about jumping sharks every time someone says or does something they don’t like. This is the kind of show that’s always going to create hurdles for relationships. Even Meredith and Derek fought last week, but they got over it. So should we all. And that’s my Dear TV Abby advice for the week.
