I don't care what Teddy does. I care about what Owen will do in response. Cristina doesn not deserve to be treated as something that is keeping Owen and Teddy apart. This is what the story looks like to me now.

More than anything else it pisses me off that Cristina and Owen, the relationship, the characters, *AND* the actors were reduced to supporting players for Kim Raver/Teddy.
Yes, I agree with you totally. What a waste! Two great actors, two great characters, a beautiful love story, now all reduced to background noise for a not-particularly-good actress playing an unsympathetic and not-particularly interesting character. Yuck.
Totally agree. Apparently Shonda doesn't think she's unsympathetic though, and that boggles my mind. She couldn't get much less sympathetic. I can't even think of a way to make her sympathetic at this point. I hate that since she's been on everything CO has been all about her. They say they are trying to introduce new characters to prolong the life of the show but it just seems like incredibly bad planning to do that by introducing a new character in such a way that the majority of people are going to dislike her from the get go. When Cristina leaves the show, so do I. If Owen leaves the show... I don't even want to see what kind of SL they'd give Cristina after that. If a character like TEDDY is seriously the future of Grey's it's not a show I would want to watch anyway.
I don't know. I feel rather bad for her (Kim Raver, I mean). Teddy could be a strong female figure and a good mentor for Cristina, she could even fill the spot left by Addison, but the writers decided to turn her into Moaning Myrtle instead. Shonda&co are setting her character to be hated even though they don't realize it. And I don't think C&O serve as a background noise here. This storyline is just bad for all three characters involved.
What pisses me off the most about this whole thing? First - what this storyline is doing to Owen. I hardly recognize him anymore. Where is that innovative, vulnerable but firm guy? His character used to be super popular and KMK managed to build quite a big fanbase and now? Second - where it leaves Cristina. As other said, she is like an obstacle in the way of Owen&Teddy's Victorian love affair of ages *eye roll*. Cristina, you know, the woman for whom Owen was willing to walk over the burning coals.
I agree that they are starting to treat Cristina like the thing that is keeping Owen and Teddy apart. I hate that. Owen had an out and he didn't take it so leave this SL alone already. After the kiss from the last episode, if they continue to act like Owen might end up doing something with Teddy, then I just don't know what to think anymore.
You know something else. As much as I don't like the character of Teddy, which is a lot, I still didn't have a problem with KR so much. I've never watched another show she's been on so maybe if her character was less of a backstabber, ect. I might like her... However with all these interviews she's giving lately, she's really starting to grate on me. Is anyone else annoyed beyond belief by the way she thinks teasing us with at the end of that clip is super hilarious? She seems to get a real kick out of making me sick. "There certainly is something..." Tee-hee. Annoying.
I hope it's her telling Owen she still wants him and him telling her it's never going to happen, prompting her to decide to leave, causing Cristina to do that whole thing where she runs after her... I don't really know what's funny about that though unless it's the part where Cristina says Teddy can take him. Which is laughable because Owen doesn't want her. *Tee-hee.*
This is what bothers me about Shonda and Co. They take what should be strong independent women and reduce them to these pathetic pools of nothingness...I mean I know that as women we have our vulnerable sides, etc., blah, blah, blah. But here we have a group of hard core female surgeons, one of the toughest professions for a woman to 1) make it in and 2) excel in and Shonda gives us this tripe? I loved Cristina because she was above this, even after the "I can't breath" declaration, she was not looking for someone to cling to, she found someone whom she'd be equal with (what I particularly love about their relationship). Kim Raver's "Teddy" is this GI Barbie, did a couple of tours in Iraq, and is on top of everything else a Cardio "goddess" and she reduces herself to begging for a man's love who is already taken? Where is her self respect? I can understand her confession at the beginning, she wanted to give it a chance? But weeks, maybe months have gone by and she's still pining? really? And all of this written, produced, run by another woman?
I agree but this is not just about women though. Sloan was emasculated a long time ago, Alex is sobbing in every episode as if he were on Oprah and season 6 Owen reminds me more about pudding than a badass. It's just a general trend in Shondaland IMO.
Even if they are still together by episode 14, do I want them to be? I would take c/o strong and amazing apart than pathetic and boring together At the moment they are really boring and trapped in this shitty angst cycle.
They are filming episode 16 atm that leaves 8 episodes to fix this.
I can't join the "but they will be together in the end!" train either. I won't care, if they sacrifice their integrity and diminish their relationship in the process.
