Cristina doesn't deep down trust him to stay with her. This is about her fear of abandonment. Was rather telling that when he asked her if she loved him she answered straight away. When he asked her if she trusts him she hesitated and looked away from him before answering.
The Cristina's of this world are wounded animal, who go into protection mode at the first sign of danger. If she can open up to Owen about her deep routed problems and fears without fearing he will leave her, he might be able to convince her to keep the baby.
I know he was just upset, but throwing her out is not going to help things apart from Cristina feeling abandoned again. Which is why when she came home she told him to remember he loved her before she broke the news to him.
This whole thing isn't really about a baby it's about her being scared to hope for an emotional future with a another person with all the trimings, Owen plans their future in his head, he's the romantic dreamer. Cristina is clinical, about the right now.
I'm also wondering how much the death of her father plays into this or if Shonda will bring it up/address it. (Because that also relates to her abandonment issues...)
How did they not see this coming? This was patently obvious since "have you met me?" and "you don't wanna have kids?"
I always thought it was that she thought she wasn't capable of loving a baby. But since she says unequivocally that she would love a baby, I don't believe this is about anything other than her desire not to have kids. She just doesn't envision her life with progeny.
Why is it so hard for everyone (some fans as well as Owen) to accept the simple fact that she doesn't want a baby? Not everybody wants to be a mother - why is that so wrong?
Yes I see the point that she shouldn't have scheduled an abortion without discussing it with Owen but he wasn't listening to her and he basically tried to emotionally blackmail her. 'Think about it if you love me' sorry but if you love her why don't you listen to her and think about her point of view.
I adore Cristina/Owen but he really made me angry this episode. I don't see how they can come back from this very easily. Making Cristina change her mind would be completely unbelievable and out of character. The may be able to make Owen change his mind but it would have to be done very carefully.
